At Promedios we are convinced that communication is a tool for social transformation and a basic human right. We believe in the re-appropriation and the creation of media by society as a key element in organizing and resistance, as well as the need and the right to tell our own stories through our own voices.
This led to the birth of Promedios in 1998, and continues to be our goal. We believe that a just society cannot exist while its population or a sector of it is excluded from the media and from the technological advances that go along with it. We believe that tools for expression and communication should be, above all, in the hands of those who are most excluded in our societies. Those who have the least should be heard the most.
